The Story Behind Eagletree

The name Eagletree began long before our homestead did.

On the farm where I grew up stood an old tree that was something of a small-town landmark. Bald eagles returned to it year after year, and seeing them perched among its bare branches became part of what home looked like to me.

The nearby town where I grew up and went to school also had a bald eagle as its school mascot, so eagles were a pretty familiar part of my childhood.

When it came time to name the homestead we are building together, Eagletree Homestead simply felt right—a piece of the place I came from carried into the home we're creating now.

There really wasn't another name that felt quite as much like ours.

What We're Building

Today, Eagletree Homestead is our home, our garden, our kitchen, and a place to experiment. We grow what we can, preserve what's in season, and make small batches of the things we genuinely enjoy—from herbs and seasonings to pantry goods and whatever curiosity leads us to try next.

We believe in getting our hands in the dirt, using what we have, learning old skills and trying new ones. We believe there's a little bit of magic in growing something from a seed, turning a harvest into something that lasts, and making useful, beautiful things by hand.

Most of all, Eagletree is a place for everybody to experience kindness and curiosity. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, and however you make a home for yourself, you're welcome here.

We're still at the beginning, and that's part of the fun. Eagletree will continue to grow right along with us.
